Utica College is located in a suburban town Utica, NY about 50 miles away from Syracuse, NY. The school is about 3,084 undergrad with a graduate population of 1,300. Almost half of undergraduates are majoring in health related studies while a fifth are enrolled in cyber security. Though those subjects are popular, the school offers over fifty majors. Utica is a Division III and their women and men's hockey teams are extremely popular and successful on campus. Greek life is not dominant on campus, with about 2% of female and 2% of male students active in a fraternity or sorority. The school offers a study abroad program in Europe, Asia, South America and Africa. 77% of the student population's financial need was met by the college with grants and financial aid packages. Utica is on a semester schedule and it has a rolling admission plan for applications. Utica does require a SAT/ACT score. About 42% of students graduate within six years. Famous alumni from Utica include Andy Rubin, co-founder and former CEO of Android and John McHugh, Secretary of the Army from 2009-2015.
