Connecticut College

Connecticut College is a private, liberal arts college that specializes in environmental studies, international studies, the arts, and community action. It is home to 1,903 students and the campus itself is a 750 acre arboretum. There are over 1,000 courses offered between 41 majors, and about 50-55% of the student body studies abroad in their four years there. Connecticut College also has a commitment to providing financial aid- all aid awards are need based (using the EFC) and loans are eliminated from the awards given to low-income students.

The campus has 23 residence halls, and all are within a five minute walk of classes. There is no Greek life on campus, and the college is committed to having the students' social lives begin with their houses. CC has created "active learning communities" at each hall, some of which are themed. There are about 80 student led organizations and clubs on campus.

Some notable alumni include Joan Rivers, David Haussler (lead of the Human Genome Project), and Tim Armstrong (CEO of AOL).
