Hampshire College is a liberal arts college located in Amherst, Massachusettes founded in 1958.
- Hampshire college recently made the news for being the first college to refuse to take standardized test scores. No SATs/ACTs required here!
- It also has a unique divisional academic system, there are no preset majors here; students all create their own individualized education paths and coursework towards their degrees.
- Student dorms are divided into five residential houses, this allows for incoming undergraduates to be exposed to a loci of student activity immediately as they arrive on campus!
- Besides the 100+ student service organizations, students recently picked over 600 pounds of local blueberries as a service project to benefit local organizations in the community.
- Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o attended Hampshire College for undergrad, studying Film and Theater studies!
