Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) is a private school founded in 1904 in Boston, MA. WIT offers career-focused education for technical jobs including, but not limited to engineering, computer science, architecture, design and management.
- Wentworth's campus is accessible via the MBTA Green Line and the campus spans across the Roxbury and Fenway neighborhoods.
- Unique to WIT, entering first-year students are encouraged to participate in their RAMP program. The RAMP program is a six-week summer bridge program for Boston residents to familiarize them with college coursework, meet a cohort of classmates from similar backgrounds, and acclimate themselves to the campus.
- Student organizations on-campus include groups along the lines of: The Wentworth Architecture club, Society of Hispanic Engineers, and the Competitive Video Gaming Club and much more!
- Notable alumni from WIT include politician John Kennedy and prolific inventor Russell Colley, who invented the nylon space suit used in the first manned space flight.
- WIT was recently recognized in the news for gaining national status as a College of Distinction--it is now part of a select group of schools that demonstrate excellence in undergraduate education.
