- SEAD’s College Knowledge (CK) Curriculum is a new program that tries to establish a more college-going culture in the program as well as provide adequate resources for our students. The 2014-2015 academic year was a pilot year for the program
- Spring 2015, we want to personalize our curriculum as much as possible in order to best serve our individual SEAD students’ needs and paths. Interns will utilize the College Knowledge blog to prepare themselves to have targeted conversations with their SEAD students.
- This fall, we will continue on the path of personalizing the College Knowledge blog to the SEAD scholars by doing highlights of schools that they have chosen to apply to. Interns with help of their selected scholar of the week will choose a college from the scholar's College Match Grid and bring you a post about that specific school. We encourage you to have your students follow these blog posts as guides when researching other schools on their College Match Grid to ensure they are applying to schools that they believe are a great fit for them.
What’s on College Knowledge blog?
- The College Knowledge blog is filled with resources from I’m First Guide to College, College Greenlight, College Board, and many others. It contains information in these broad categories: (1) College Portfolios; (2) Building Your College List; (3) The College Application Process; (4) Standardized Testing; (5) Paying for College.
- The College Knowledge blog, while designed with the SEAD students in their senior year in mind, is for our SEAD College Interns to use. We want our interns to feel prepared and successful when answering questions from SEAD students, other high school students, teachers, and administrators about college admissions, so please utilize the blog.
- Additionally, if there are topics you would like to see, please e-mail MaeAnna and she’d be happy to add them.
